HIBBING, MN (October 4, 2009) -
With the regular season behind us we are only racing one race a week now at various invitationals. The invitational season, however, hasn't been too kind to us this year. The end of year specials kicked off at the Proctor Speedway on Sept. 3 where Kyle won his heat but couldn't advance in the feature and finished 10th.

The next night took us to the Grand Rapids Speedway where once again he won his heat but with a poor choice in the set-up of the car finished 7th.

The following night was the start of the two day Labor Day Shootout in Hibbing. Bad draws and an ill-handling car led to Kyle not making it into the feature either day - the first time this has ever happened. It was with great disappointment that we had to sit on the sidelines and watch.
The following week of Sept. 16-19 was the biggest show of the year, The WISSOTA 100, held at the Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, South Dakota. We left for Huron a couple days earlier and watched races in Ogilvie, MN on Saturday night then traveled to Madison, MN to race on Sunday. We've raced at Madison only a couple of times and have never been able to come up with a good set-up but this night we came closer and Kyle finished 3rd in the heat and 7th in the feature.

The first night of the WISSOTA 100 started out well with Kyle drawing pole position but things quickly went downhill from there. Carburetor problems in the heat caused the car to bog at times and he ended up 4th. The next day the car looked bad and we were saved by two angels, A.J. Diemel and Bob Richardson, who helped out tremendously. A HUGE Thank You to them!!  Kyle made it into the main feature on Saturday night but started in the back and couldn't go anywhere. On Friday night the Race of Champions returned to the WISSOTA 100. This race features track champions and past winners and was one of the best of the weekend. Kyle drove an awsome race to be crowned the winner!

The next weekend, Sept. 25-26 we returned to the Grand Rapids Speedway for their Thunder in the Pines Invitational where Kyle finished 2nd in the heat and 4th in the feature.
